- Ms Val grinned with satisfaction and gave Randy a quick wink, which mostly just confused him. The guidance counselor turned to Dove, tapping a line on her piece of paper. Dove's face went white as she realized she had been wrong.
- "Randy is correct. Eight classes you two have had together in just the last two years. That's quite a lot. And even with all that you two have barely interacted with each other." Ms Val noted.
- Letting out a sigh of disbelief, Dove looked down as her mind raced. How had she been so far off. Had she really been in that many classes with Randy and not remembered? The boy was so quiet, she supposed that he could fade into the background, but how had she ignored spending so much class time with him. Many of those classes would have had presentations, had she just disregarded Randy that much? Was she so wrapped up in her own world that she could take no notice of someone to that degree? Perhaps Ms Val had a point with all this, maybe she did need to try and build connections with other people outside her normal social circles.
